Yann Kersalé

Born in 1955, in Paris.
Lives and works in Paris.
Graduated from the Quimper School of Fine Arts in 1978, Yann Kersalé began his career in theatrical lighting and stage shows.

By the late 1980s, after several projects illuminating structures like the Fourvière Tower in Lyon or the Grand Palais' glass roof in Paris, he initiated the "Nuit des Docks" light festival in Saint-Nazaire in 1991. The 1990s established him as a leading figure in architectural and urban lighting, working on projects including the Cherbourg docks, Lyon Opera House, Agbar Tower in Barcelona, Sony Center in Berlin, and airports in Bangkok and Chicago, as well as the Place de la République in Paris.

Inspired by the aerodynamic fuselage of airplane wings, his 2016 installation on the facades of the Airbus Leadership Academy transforms a technical object into a true lacework of light.
