Designed with a strategic and rational composition that clearly dissociates the reception pavilion, accessible to the public, from the laboratories building, reserved for research, the building presents itself in the form of a perfectly regular parallelepiped that puts science under glass.

It is organised on a square plan divided into three bays. The central bay accommodates the vertical circulations and technical facilities, while the two lateral bays house the research areas on the façade. Housed in jutting volumes arranging in a staggered pattern, these “nests” are shaped and calibrated so as to allow light through. The researchers are at home here, in a protected environment conducive to their work. As with the flower factory at Aulnay-sous-Bois, aesthetics serve industrial quality.

The rationality of the organisation and the layout of these successive spaces puts the research process at centre stage and is conducive to teamwork. The technical solution, from the point of view of energy (geothermal), insulation of the façades and the air renewal system, has earned for this ensemble the first HQE Label for research laboratories in France.
