Las Mercedes
Business Park

Close to the airport, the quadrilateral of Las Mercedes, a former industrial wasteland, opens on to one of the main arterial roads giving access to Madrid. This new business and office complex is designed as a vast urban campus. It is urban in its block structure, in which modular buildings are aligned along peripheral roads, but campus-like with its huge central park that occupies the heart of the complex.

On the exterior, the T-shaped modules of the buildings are aligned so as to constitute, with their glass double façade, the venture’s showcase. On the interior, they penetrate the central space to increase the perimeter of the façades in contact with the gardens.

The entrance brings the shared services together in a reception pavilion overflown by a pergola that links the various buildings together. The central garden, protected from the noise and pollution of the arterial roads, has vegetation arranged in tiers, thus enlarging the planted space. Below, the restaurants open onto a pool which, combined with the trees, provides coolness and tranquillity.
