Tour Opus 12

On the south bank of the esplanade, in the midst of the renovation of La Défense, the Tour Opus 12 stands out, subtly. Displaying both independence and reciprocity, it remains on the same scale as its twin tower but is distinguished from it by a new look.

The wheat-ear shaped pillars which formerly gave shape to the façade have been substituted by a lighter load-bearing structure. The ceilings have been widened, to the benefit of the work floors. The technical facilities have been adapted to meet contemporary expectations. The tower is being rebuilt upon itself.

A patio reveals its base and gives visitors a perception of the building in its entirety.
Enveloped in a double wall of clear and pearlescent glass, it takes on new meaning. The huge, high-ceilinged foyer opens resolutely onto the esplanade. The levels are guessed at rather than counted.

Fully glazed, the tower gives its occupants a wider view of Paris and the Grande Arche. In the evening and in the morning, the rounded corners capture and diffract the sun’s rays; the tower takes on the colours of the light and thus the appearance of a precious object which, in a universe of great height, stands out by virtue of its refinement.
