Rive Nature
The defining feature of this new district is the creation of a large landscaped park, incorporating a pedestrian promenade with abundant planting. This wooded landscape runs perpendicular to the Seine, connecting the riverfront, boulevard and surrounding streets, as well as the riverside terraces of the neighbouring shopping centre.
The residential buildings, comprising a total of 640 homes, are arranged in a staggered formation along the urban park. A distinctive element marks the entrance from the Seine in the form of a taller building. Together, this landmark tower and the opening of the landscaped promenade onto the riverfront create a strong visual gateway to Villeneuve-la-Garenne.
The variation in building heights, which rise or recede as one moves towards or away from the Seine, helps manage overlooking and preserve residents’ privacy. Outdoor extensions to the homes, in the form of balconies and terraces, further contribute to the project’s architectural identity. Finally, the project’s mix of uses and social diversity encourages interaction, encounters, coexistence and a sense of community, while preserving the privacy of residents.
As a link between the Seine and the city centre, a landmark gateway to the city, a lush urban park and an architectural environment designed around residents’ well-being, Rive Nature embodies the renewal of Villeneuve-la-Garenne.
