Curving in a large, streamlined glass shell that echoes the curves of the river, the 80-metre-high building was designed using a contemporary aesthetic approach, underpinned by an evocation of, and respect for, Russian cultural roots while offering the customer the quality of a Hyatt establishment.

The panoramic curve of the façade initiates an inflexion that sculpts the entire building in successive strips of stone, metal and glass, thus creating its silhouette and its identity. A transverse plinth provides the setting for the entrance and the convention centre. The façade on the city side consists of a series of technological filters – stone, copper and glass. Overlooking the river, a convex glass shield accommodates 300 rooms with panoramic views, the restaurants, the Spa and swimming pool, all open to the forested skyline of the Urals.

The reception floor has a long wooden undulation running through it, a metaphor for the route through the forest. This undulation forms a link with the tea lounge, designed like a winter garden with a bar. Inspired by the interior of an isba, the tea lounged is lined with copper and organised around a fire. The ballroom is an immense space for 600 people, served by a majestic staircase. The curves of the bedroom corridors are covered in gold leaf, evoking the ambiance and mysterious light of Russian churches.

The pool and spa are entirely white, giving the unreal sensation of floating above the icy landscape of the Urals. At ground level, the reception lobby, open to the city, is the place for meetups and entertainment. It offers the most social of spaces and is arranged along a large wooden undulation punctuated by an imposing staircase. This staircase is the hotel’s central articulation, leading to the large reception areas.
