Jean-Charles Blais

Born in 1956 in Nantes.
Lives and works in Paris.
A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Rennes, Jean-Charles Blais contributed to the emergence of the "Free Figuration" movement in the 1980s.

His early work is dominated by the silhouettes of anonymous, ghostly, and oversized characters, seemingly cramped on their supports. At the turn of the 2000s, his work took a technological turn, focusing on digital image projections.

Several of his projections were presented at the agency in 2002.
