More of a town than a campus, the 400-hectare site is home not only to research-related buildings and laboratories, but also living accommodation for 3,000 people, hotels, a conference centre, a university, a start-up centre and cultural facilities.
In addition to the overall coordination of this immense project, Valode & Pistre was also entrusted with designing the Technopark, a building dedicated to cutting-edge technology. The building, with a surface area of 20,0000 m², is intended as a true multi- and interdisciplinary forum, encouraging and facilitating meetings and the exchange of ideas and thus innovation. It offers an ensemble of laboratories, reception areas and discussion areas, and the scalability of the spaces ensures optimal adaptation to companies’ specific needs.
Behind a long black façade, 300 metres in length, wide and well-lit atriums, domes and gangways overlook a park that has the look of a forest. The Technopark’s architecture thus offers a vision that is both futuristic and rigorous, just like the experimental scientific processes it houses.
