The objective was to combine exhibition spaces, conference centres and a business centre, with the aim of developing a major zone of economic activity. The project consists of four pavilion modules, linked by a central space that is the project’s main axis. The long, light roof, supported by an impressive steel structure resembling outspread wings, stretches in a long curve evoking the neighbouring Yellow River and tracing the contour of a traditional Chinese roof.
From north to south, the site is divided into three parts: a shared space, a central courtyard and an urban park. The central courtyard serves as an assembly and distribution area for adults participating in conventions and exhibitions, an area for photographing visiting dignitaries on their arrival, and an open space for public activities and celebrations. On the north and south sides, the ridge line of the roof descends to form an arch. These arches act as windows marking the opening to the exterior and the connection with the city.
