He became a teacher at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in 1970, where he was responsible for an architecture and town planning studio. In 1971, he was awarded a prize by the Programme Architecture Nouvelle for an industrial social housing project in synthetic materials. In 1980, with Jean Pistre, he set up the Valode & Pistre Architecture Firm based on a number of founding projects such as the Bordeaux Museum of Contemporary Art and the Bélier Foundry in Bordeaux.
He was awarded the Académie d’Architecture Silver Medal in 1988 and the Vermeil Medal of Encouragement for National Industry in 1990. The L’Oréal project in Aulnay was awarded the Prix de l’Équerre d’Argent in 1992 and the Prix Quaternario in 1993. He was appointed Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 1997, and, after being awarded the Académie d’Architecture Gold Medal in 1999 for his entire body of work with Jean Pistre, he became a member of the Académie d’Architecture in 2001. He was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2002. He was appointed Officier des Arts et des Lettres in 2007.

Jean Pistre gained his Architect’s Diploma at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts (Pedagogic Unit No. 1) in 1974, and as a student he was awarded a prize by the Programme Architecture Nouvelle for a project for a leisure facility in cardboard.
In 1980, with Denis Valode, he set up the Valode & Pistre Architecture Firm based on a number of founding projects such as the Bordeaux Museum of Contemporary Art and the Bélier Foundry in Bordeaux. She left Spain for the United States and continued her studies in New York, at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, where she obtained a Master of Advanced Architectural Design (MAAD) in 1998.
In 2002, she was awarded the NAJA (New Albums by Young Architects) prize and the Young Architects Forum prize in New York.
After working as a project manager at Peter Eisanmann's New York office from 2000 to 2002, she founded her own office, dZO architecture, which she ran until 2008.
She joined Valode & Pistre in 2008 as Project Manager and was appointed Studio Director in 2019.

He moved to France in 2007 and worked with the Patriarche and Coop Himmelb(l)au practices, notably on the Musée des Confluences project in Lyon.
He joined Valode & Pistre in 2014 as project manager and became director in 2017.
Within the agency, he develops complex projects in France and internationally, in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
He was appointed Studio Director and became a Partner in 2022.

In 1996, he joined the Sanofi pharmaceutical group in Panama as a National Service Volunteer to become Management Controller for Central America, before moving to the head office in Paris with responsibility for Venezuela, Central America and Colombia. He then joined the Big Four Arthur Andersen in 1999, as Senior Auditor with the following main clients: SNCF, Orangina, Carrefour, Alcatel and Seita. In 2003, he took part in the launch of the free newspaper 20 Minutes (the leading general news daily) as Finance and Human Resources Director, a position he subsequently held at Unowhy & QOOQ (digital start-up) from 2009, where he was responsible for obtaining public and private funding (fund-raising).
He joined Valode & Pistre in 2011 as Director in charge of Finance, HR, Legal and IT.
He became a Partner in 2019.

As a student, he won the Office Technique pour l'Utilisation de l'Acier competition with a project for an air terminal in Chalons-Vatry.
He began his career in Bordeaux, working alongside Luc Arsène Henry Junior and Alain Triaud architects, participating in the construction of offices and a Falcon 7X assembly hall for Dassault Aviation.
He joined Valode & Pistre in 2004 for a major renovation project on a high-rise building, before working on the T1 Tower. In 2006, he became Project Manager and was appointed Studio Director in 2011.
He became a Partner in 2012, and since then has managed a large proportion of the agency's projects, delivering mixed-use neighbourhoods, towers, hotels, hospitals, stadiums and exhibition centres in France and abroad.
The experience he has acquired on these major projects and complex operations has led him, in addition to managing one of the architecture studios, to play an active role in developing the multidisciplinary nature of the Valode & Pistre Group, with the creation of VP X, support for VP BIM and the search for synergies with VPGreen and Espace-Temps.

Throughout his career, he has worked in a variety of complementary structures: public administrations, public and private project owners and project managers, gaining experience of all the players in the construction industry.
He joined Valode & Pistre in 2009 as General Secretary, with particular responsibility for the firm's development, both in France and internationally.
He became a Partner in 2019.

She joined Valode & Pistre in 2002. Winner of the internal competition in 2004 with the 5* Hyatt Hotel in Ekaterinburg (delivered in 2008), she was appointed Studio Director in 2009 and developed major international projects (Ekat City business centre, Iset Tower, Skolkovo Technopark in Moscow, El Jadida Exhibition Park in Morocco, as well as the Promenade Sainte-Catherine in Bordeaux and Beaugrenelle Paris). In 2015 she introduced VPdesign to a global approach focused on the art of living, combining heritage renovation and interior design with architecture: Tour Saint-Gobain, Nike House of Innovation on the Champs-Elysées, PWC, Airbus Campus, Hôtel Bulgari with ACPV, Cité Administrative in Lille. Currently the head office of the Caisse d'Épargne Midi-Pyrénées...
She became an Associate Architect in 2010.

In charge of the generic plant project developed for Valeo, he spent several years in Morocco and Mexico. This international experience led him to Moscow where he took over the management of the new agency Valode & Pistre Russia from 2004 to 2009. He then worked on major projects such as the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Ekaterinburg or the new ecological city Akademia.
Back in Paris, he was appointed Studio Director in 2014 and develops various projects such as the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center in El Jadida (Morocco,) the ABC project (Grenoble), the ARTFX Digital Arts Campus – Lille, the Prado-Concorde district (Castelnau-le-Lez), Hôtel Saint-James & Albany (Paris), Grand Hôtel Barrière d'Enghien-les-Bains…
He became Associate Architect in 2019.

He joined Valode & Pistre in 2004 and was appointed director of the Valode & Pistre China office in 2005.
Working in a wide range of fields and on a variety of scales (towers, cultural centres, hotels and shops), he developed the activities of VP China, based in Beijing; the office now employs more than 50 people.
In 2012, he was admitted to the Ordre des Architectes d'Île-de-France and became a Partner the same year.

She went on to work for a number of prestigious firms: Atelier Ricardo Bofill in 1981 (Head of Communications), Agence Claude Vasconi in 1984 (Head of Communications) and then RPBW Renzo Piano Building Workshop in 1986, where she became Head of Exhibitions.
She joined Valode & Pistre in 1989, where she has been Head of Communication ever since.
She became a partner in 2010.
